Can I add tags based on form answers?

Yes. You can configure static tags (applied to every signup) or conditional tags (applied based on specific field values).

What if the email already exists in Mailchimp?

The existing subscriber is updated with any new merge field data and new tags. Mailchimp doesn't create duplicates.
